musique concrète
Over the course of May to October 2023, I began further experimentations on electronic/tape music following the premieres of co-de-re: a rhapsody of sound, and Five Movements in 6001. These six studies are process-driven explorations/improvisations, and are immersive soundworlds with no real structural coherence.
Studies I, III and V, are tape manipulations from materials I took from my composition teachers, Dr Gooi Tah Choe and Mr Lee Ji Heng. Studies II, IV and VI, are electronic improvisations and come in the form of ambient music.

improvisations with acoustic objects
As a follow up to my earlier studies, Studies VII - XII focus on live electronic improvisations. Each study is an improvisation with a single object (e.g piano, paper, pen), and processing these sounds through an audio interface.
These are free improvisations - organic and not strictly delineated in form.

algorithmic compositions using coding
Using sonic pi, a music coding software using the Ruby Programming Language, I experimented with probabilities and randomness in creating musical structure. Each piece can have different versions and outcomes, depending on how certain presets are configured.
Each piece will have five different versions, spanning five different lengths with five different musical structures and textures.
