Re:Cinta Wind Symphony is a youth- focused Wind Ensemble founded by Xavier Hui and Dylan Lim in May 2023. Since then, we have embarked on a number of projects, including an outreach programme in June and our most recent chamber concert in September.
The name “Re:Cinta” is a portmanteau of two words of different origin – Re (热 ), a Chinese word meaning hot or burning, and Cinta, the Malay word for passion and love
We aim to create an inclusive platform for like- minded youths to band together and build a tight community that enables young people to develop their musicianship beyond the school setting. We envision ourselves contributing to the rich diversity of the local arts scene with new music, compositions by home- grown musicians and offer fresh interpretations and perspectives. We hope to spotlight local artistry, from composers to the youth musicians performing, and support the musical development and ambition of the next generation of Singapore’s band scene.
